When my wife and I were doing our research before our exit, I was struck by a basic contradiction in Watchtower teaching. Witnesses are constantly told that they have to take every single thought advanced by the WTBS as absolute gospel. The slightest deviation will get you in front of a JC. Yet, when they get called out on their mistakes, they retreat into "we're just imperfect men."
If everything they said was preceeded by "We are imperfect men, but we've studied this a lot and here is what we think, take it or leave it as suits you," probably a lot of us would not be on this board. After we left, I heard the pastor of our church say this on the stage one Sunday morning. it was quite an eye opener.
