I am glad the surgery worked out well and despite their faults your parents did their best. It was great that your mum had the chance to talk to you. Don't feel to bad at the begging after all that was pretty much a given and a way of justifying the visit to the cult. She loves you in her cultish way.
This is your time to think about you and be waited on it may never happen again.

Glad to hear the surgery went well. If you want a wedding, have one. You could always have an uncle "give you away". Don't change a single plan due to your parents shunning you. Live your life, and let them suffer what they're missing.
