I agree with what the question is trying to say. Someone mentioned this concept recently on JWN and I realized I never thought of this before in this way. If it is from the all-powerful GOD, then why aren't there clearly the true original scripts so everyone knew what it was without question?

Along that idea, why wasn't the Bible written in a way that can't be misinterpreted, or prove both completely opposite concepts (like supporting and refuting the Trinity)? Even man-made laws (as crazy as they can be) are usually written with such wording so that it is very black-and-white with no misinterpretation.

A truly powerful and wise God who created the Earth and all life has the power to creat the Bible that is known to be by him, and cannot be misinterpreted.

I think Atheist lectures are always shrill.

    The representations made are caustic.

The messege is destroyed by the medium, if you will.

If every non Kool-Aid drinking person simply concentrated on the ONE major foundational premise; THE BIBLE...alot more progress would be made in waking people up to something important.

    What?

We cannot (nobody can) argue words, doctrines, meanings using scripture. The distortions are too likely to permit that.

It isn't a stretch of the imagination to see how competing ideas were dealt with in ancient times with harsh censorship.

A few tidbits from Wikipedia. (You can investigate the particulars beyond Wiki, certainly)

    After Constantine:

According to scholar Elaine Pagels, "In AD 367, Athanasius, the zealous bishop of Alexandria… issued an Easter letter in which he demanded that Egyptian monks destroy all such unacceptable writings, except for those he specifically listed as 'acceptable' even 'canonical' — a list that constitutes the present 'New Testament'". [citation needed] Although Pagels cites Athanasius's Paschal letter (letter 39) for 367 AD, there is no order for monks to destroy heretical works contained in that letter. [1]

Thus, heretical texts do not turn up as palimpsests, washed clean and overwritten, as pagan ones do; many early Christian texts have been as thoroughly "lost" as if they had been publicly burnt.

    Before Constantine:

Christian books were rounded up and burned by a decree of emperor Diocletian in 303, calling for an increased persecution of Christians.

    During Constantine's rule:

The books of Arius and his followers were gathered up and burned after the first Council of Nicaea (325), for heresy.

    After Constantine:

In 364, the Christian Emperor Jovian ordered the entire Library of Antioch to be burnt [10] . It had been heavily stocked by the aid of his non-Christian predecessor, Emperor Julian.

The Bible turns out to be a sort of Wikipedia that any group can come along and edit to infiltrate with contrary ideas and reshape unpleasant alternatives by altering. Look at the Bible Translation landscape! How many different translations can you find at your local bookstore?

Ask yourself what each translations has CHANGED to make their own brand of belief easier to swallow.......!!

The malleable nature of "scripture" has made it open to reinterpretation constantly as the world has changed. You can make it into anything you want it to be.

It is only "not easily understood" in a full context because the changes and alterations over time don't need to change the WHOLE getalt to get their way. Incrementalism at work and syncretism in practice do the trick well enough!

Getting back to the Topic Heading.....

The Catholic Church early on realize this very thing would happen (competing opinions) if they did not replace Scriptural reliance with a more controllable AUTHORITY from magisterium.
