By all means go, be nice, and have a good time. If other people don't like the idea of you and your brother being there, they are the ones with the problem and they are the ones who should stay home! And congratulations to your mom for putting her family ahead of keeping up appearances for the organization's sake.

Joshnaz I loved your link. It makes me wonder why JWs don't question their marriage ceremonies and rituals and ask where they came from if the Bible does not specifically state it.
For example, if it's superstition to have bridesmaids wearing similar dresses to ward off demons and evil spirits, why do they do it?
