The Bible is confused starting in Genesis- it goes with the territory.

"Can't accept blood but allowed to accept blood fractions. Cannot donate blood but allowed to accept blood fractions that come only from blood. Able to take medicines made with blood but cannot donate blood to help hospitals make this medicine. Cannot store blood for surgeries but are allowed to have blood pump around outside your body and back in during surgery"

Well stated! (God forbid the tubing come loose during the procedure...now you've broken God's law while you were unconscious because the circuit was broken! What a crock!) This issue is one that really started bothering me about a year ago and was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Either blood is sacred and should only be poured out on the ground to Jehovah or it isn't. Picking and choosing how it can be used and whose can be used under what circumstance based on nothing in the Bible but just because the GB said so and might say something else next week was just too much for me. It was over the top. Couldn't deal with it. Over and out.

EverA Student: "I knew they were utterly confused when I asked them what salvation was and how to get saved. They either had no clue, or were too ashamed to tell me. Imagine, a religion that is either too confused or too ashamed to tell people how to get saved..........

They told me that the ONLY path to salvation is by "taking in accurate Knowledge"...then implied that this accurate knowledge was only in their publications.

As far as I know, that is the scriptural reference they quote concerning salvation.

Most JW's I knew could not explain the doctrine, they just "knew" it was right.
Many could explain the doctrine, but the majority (including me on many subjects) just memorized the party line and had to ignore anything contrary to their explanation or find a WT article that tries to explain it away.

Members are not confused because they are generally just Watchtower parrots. Parrots are not that worried about what they say, they just say it for the crackers.

It is very confusing to start questioning it all. It gets clearer as one figures it out.

    Was that confusing?

I asked this, and then asked how much knowledge and for how long until I was saved. I could never get an answer. I could never get an answer when I asked if they were saved. Therefore, they have nothing to offer. Even in the talks they never say you can get saved or live forever. They say you have a prospect of it. Weasel word. When you enter a casino, you have a prospect of winning a jackpot. It is a casino religion, offering only a prospect.

Since they could not (or would not) answer my question about how to attain salvation, I started reading their "publications." Kurtbethel hit the nail on the head with the flat part of the hammer. It is ALWAYS described as a "chance" or an "opportunity." Get those slot machines fired up!

When I finally mapped out their salvation to the Bible's salvation, on paper, the senior study leader almost freaked (I had given one to everyone at the table -- snickering to myself). He admitted what was written on the paper was indeed how they viewed salvation (no certainty, you must work hard, then wait and see). Two weeks later they cut me off from studying with them.

Hey, who knew one could be absolutely certain of a guaranteed salvation just by believing on Jesus and calling out to Him for salvation using His name???? They pretty much told me it was the wrong name to call out to...sigh...

But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord , and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved ; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." (Romans 10:8-13)

I never joined the organization, but went through more than a year of weekly Bible studies with a team of JWs. I knew they were utterly confused when I asked them what salvation was and how to get saved. They either had no clue, or were too ashamed to tell me. Imagine, a religion that is either too confused or too ashamed to tell people how to get saved..........

You know I asked my wife a question about salvation sometime back and she gave me a hodge podge of answers and not one of them had God's amazing grace provided through Christ Jesus in any of them.

I asked her later why she felt that she needed salvation. She said that she deserved it and wanted to live forever on paradise Earth. Um, last time I checked, no one deserves salvation as it is a free gift.
