The turkey was dry. Usually I use a Reynolds oven bag but bought a generic one this time, and it didn't do a good job. Other than that, everything was pretty good.
We have not had ours yet. But Saturday will tell the tale. But I'm thinking it will be fantastic.
I was a little shocked at the amount of fat that came from the bird. In past years I could count on enough juices to make gravy. Just to be sure I added 1 cup of stock to the baking pan before roasting.
When I poured everything out into one of those fat separators, there was nothing but 2 cups of fat. The bird was very moist, but I wonder what they are doing to get these birds so fat. Had to use chicken stock to make the gravy.
It was a 20 pound fresh Butterball.

Sorry double post
Damn I'm good! The turkey is slammin'. So moist and tender, makes me wanna slap my mama....literally.
P.S. Hubby has just volunteered to slap my mama
What is it about cooking all day that ruins my appetite? Everything was delicious, we haven't had dessert yet. But I had one small plate, and I'm totally full. Anyone else who cooks all day ever notice this?

Yes, but usually because I eat as I cook.
Our dinner was great! Last night, me and my sisters had a slumber party....complete with drinking and laughing!
I cooked all day! But it was worth it!

Mr. Dinah was on my LAST damn nerve. He started drinking early, and then wanted to bitch while I had food flickin' everywhere. Oh, and by the time everything was done, he "took a nap" only to wake up and get on my nerves some more. He's snoring now.
