ziddina, I know of a df'd couple that did have a bible study with an elder and his wife. You can do it as long as you do not say common words like, paradise earth, etc....at first, make them think you are a new bible student. Just do not give them any clues that you were a witness. It is up to you. Good Luck!

The documents in the congregation is called the "specialist shepherding file" and a record is kept indefinitely if the "wrongdoer" is not reinstated. The congregation records do not have any detail of the wrongdoing the just the names of the Elders serving on the JC and the date of the decision. Reproofs are kept for 5 years and then destroyed. After someone has been reinstated the the record is only held for years. The names of sex offenders are treated differently and are permanently kept on the file even after reproof or reinstatement.

I have no idea what records are kept at branch level.

May be things are handled slightly differently in different countries. I agree that the names will be held permanently on file. However, the society instructed a few years ago that the details, i.e. any notes, correspondence, etc. relating to sex offenses, child molestation should be held by themselves and not the local congregation. I am sure it is a case of them not trusting, rightly so, the security of the local congregation. It is however, pretty 'big brotherish'.
