Does the bible really say that Jesus Christ was celibate?

I was somehow thinking that it did say this for John the Baptist, but thought not about Jesus.

The Bible is silent on His celibacy - or lack thereof.

However, it does give a hint as to His status in these words of the Master:

Matthew 20:28 "That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for the many who are held hostage." MSG.

    Let the reader use discernment.

Some of the many Gospels might discuss Jesus' sex life. The four Gospels commonly known certainly don't, at least after editing.

Some view that wedding celebration that he attended as being his own. They point to the fact that they came to him, when they ran out of wine. Mary mag is the obvious choise as a mate for him. Wasn't she the first to see him, post death?

Oh! You also mentioned John the Baptist, didn't you?

Luke 1:15 -17 "He'll drink neither wine nor beer. He'll be filled with the Holy Spirit from the moment he leaves his mother's womb. He will turn many sons and daughters of Israel back to their God. He will herald God's arrival in the style and strength of Elijah, soften the hearts of parents to children, and kindle devout understanding among hardened skeptics—he'll get the people ready for God." MSG

Elijah and John were both ascetics, so we can draw our conclusions.

He still does; John the Baptist is the bridegroom.

    Oh, goodness!

I meant "friend of the bridegroom" - something like our "best man."

    Oh, goodness!
