Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion who shoots their own wounded.
Prodigal son wanders away and messes up in a big way. Prodigal son returns. Father hugs and kisses him and rejoices in his return. All is forgiven.
Prodigal dub wanders aways and breaks the Watchtower Printing Corporation's rules. "Mother borg" shoots prodigal dub. Prodigal family shoots dub, too. Dub is "dead." Nothing is forgiven.
That is in fact, the way it works. This is what the Watchtower Printing Corporation really does even though they say their religion is all Bible-Based(tm).
