    DutchStef: Copenhagen; Holland is to the Netherlands as England is to Great Britain; Belgium is 179 years old, and I may be wrong on part of the last question, but I believe it's Holland and Great Britain.

    I have to say we used to get so pissed off over here that all the societys literature was full of American spellings and many a turn of phrase we would never use.

    Four pages on this thread and no one mentioned the misspelling in this sentence. lol

    Good point on the plural. Still it doesn't look right. Maybe it should be society' ? I'll have to investigate.

    It should read: society's. As it is referring to the one society, not more than one.
