Your lot are only one of many cults using the same scriptures to support their version of the same doctrine as applying to them.

This thread is about the GB of JWs. Your scriptures do nothing for your dubious notion that the leaders of YOUR failed doomsday cult are THE Faithful Steward.

My reply: The decisions in the case of Acts 15- where the elders, apostles and entire cong discussed the issues caused by the Jeru cong. A one-time get-together. Nowehre else in Scripture is any such gathering referenced.

Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues [a] ? Do all interpret?

My reply: No reference of a GB, or FDS here.

This article was likely written soon after the number of Memorial partakers for this year was known by the GB (still not released to the proles yet).

Most likely the number shot up again, just as it did from 2007 --> 2008. How many this year? 11,000? 12,000? More?

The GB is jealous of their exclusivity - as more and more people claim "anointed" status, the GB fears these new guys will try to wrest influence from them.

So they run an article like this.

The real point they want you to come away with? "Look, just because Brother Flake from your local congregation started partaking of the emblems last year and claims to be anointed, that doesn't mean squat. Don't listen to him - listen to us."

A nice, very naive guy (who's nice despite, rather than because of being a JW) who professes to be of the anointed, submitted a series of "suggestions" on doctrinal modification, invoking his status as one of the anointed. He was told, tactfully at first, then with increasing degrees of firmness, then on to near-nastiness: "butt out of the 'new light' business; that's OUR turf!"

So the Governing Body represents the "faithful and discreet slave" and 7 million people need to "cooperate fully with the arrangements" and "appreciate the spiritual food produced".

Nobody is allowed to question the GB because you are questioning God himself! And how could any mere human question God?

Can anyone spot the fatal flaw in their argument?

The article is a huge put-down to the 9,000-odd "faithful and discreet slave" class as a whole. They are basically being told in this article that they are the same as the great crowd, and only the GB has special authority and status as anointed ones.

As already noted, the FDS are completely indistinguishable from the "great crowd" except for the fact they take the memorial emblems.

In what way are the FDS (non-GB) feeding the domestics when most of them are not elders. How is their appointment over all of Christ's belongings evident? Most emblem partakers are treated with suspicion by the elders are even viewed by the congregation as quasi-nutters. Non-anointed elders do more "feeding" and have more authority than the FDS.

In any event, Jesus has not yet returned and so has never appointed the FDS over all his belongings. The appointment is yet to occur. The FDS has not yet been inspected and passed any test. The whole premise upon which the GB claims special representative status is false, a myth.

A simple comparison of Matthew 24: 45-47 and Matthew 25: 31-33 proves this, revealing the GB's duplicity and abuse of Jesus words to support their claim to unaccountable and unquestioned authority by direct appointment of Jesus: Jesus' "arriving" in Matthew 24:45-47 is said to have been in 1914 but Jesus "arrives" at Matt 25:31-33 in the future. Go figure.

It's obvious to all Christians except JW's that both arrivals are in the future. Only the JW leadership twist Jesus words like this.

As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey.

And they have no more authority now than they did then. Old men, telling other people how to live their lives by "speaking" for God. The shit never changes.

The "Faithful and Discreet Slave" are not "The Annointed" and the "Annointed" are not the F&DS.

This WT makes it quite clear that there are three classes:

    1) The Annointed,

    2) The Great Crowd, and

    3) The F&DS AKA the Governing Body.

Para 10 of the article says that all of the annointed engage in the preaching work, yet Ephesians 4 v11 says "some as evangelizers " not all.

this bit of scripture, very similar to the bit they do quote from 1Cor is ignored by the GB and Reniaa.

I just get the feeling, from this and other articles, that they want more and more control in the hands of the GB,what a contrast with the 1st centuary christians !
