My mother, raised a JW, would offer the magazines on city street corners in the 1950s and 1960s. My job as a young child was to hold a sandwich board which declared in large letters: "Now Is the Time For you to be Awake!" (or something like that!) whilst my mother displayed and "placed" the magazines. My memories are hazy but I do remember nice old ladies smiling at me and saying, "What a well behaved boy!" I must have been because I can never remember complaining about doing street witnessing with my mother.

I wore a sandwich board at an assembly when I was a kid. I have a picture somewhere, but I don't know where. I'm far from home, so I don't know when I would even get a chance to look.

I had hoped to start a thread sometime soon with historic jw pictures. I have a huge collection. It might be good for all with photos to post them in one place, and then we would have access to them for projects like this. It will be a while though before I can do this... If someone else would like to start the thread, I'll add to it when I can. I have a few on my hard drive that I could post, but the rest would have to wait....

Of course, your father had to cover your car with sh1t so that everyone knew you were one of the nutters on the way to the arsembly.
