I met an inactive JW celebrating a birthday with her workmates last night in a local bar. I haven't seen her in 5 years. I was one of her elders. She opened up and told me she didn't go to the Memorial for the first time this year. It's been 5 years since she and her husband have been inactive. She expressed that she felt "guilty" over her her inactivity because her mom puts pressure on her still. I recommended that she read and research JW beliefs, their origin and I specifically told her to read up on the origins of the "Slave".
It's amazing to see the emotional hold the Organization still exerts upon the brains of some JWs that have no intention of ever going back.
