Yeah, that's not cool, John Doe. There's a difference between religion that encourages self-empowerment and realization and religion that only seeks control. Also, even in religions with controlling doctrines, there are those who create their own relationship with God and the church, and find a way to thrive spiritually despite the manipulations of some people.

Which is why, when you stop going to meetings, it only takes 3 or 4 weeks before the fog lifts and you start thinking clearly.
