And can't get it out?? Here are some suggestions for songs that will drive that sucka' right outta your head!

    Mick Jagger's "I can't get no! (SATis - FACTIOn!!)"

    His "Sympathy for the Devil"

Ziggy Stardust "Major Tom" - or for that matter, ANYthing by Ziggy Stardust

Anything by KISS, EMINEM, I could go on and on...

I started this thread because I had a song stuck in my head that just wouldn't come out. It wasn't a KH song, though... Oh, no....

This was a Sea Shanty!! If anyone here has ever heard of "Moby Dick", you've got to see the 1952 version directed by John Huston and starring Gregory Peck and Richard Basehart - among others, like Orson Welles and - absolutely the BEST film version of this book EVER!

And an accurate, grittily realistic depiction of what life before the mast was REALLY like - none of this 'flying through the rigging like a bad Tarzan movie' trash - and you know which movies I'm talking about...

No. This movie was filmed on the open ocean (in many shots) and includes [Disclaimer here for the squeamish!!] scenes of actual whale-killing by the whalers of Malta. Powerful imagery runs throughout the movie - true, there are a few scenes which would have been improved if done by "Hollywood Light and Magic" but the movie runs strongly as a cohesive dynamic story - dynamite!!

Anyway, I can't get "I'll Go No More A-Rovin'" out of my head...

"In Amsterdam there lived a maid,

Mark well what I do say,

In Amsterdam there lived a maid...

    Aaaaand...,

She was mistress of her trade! - I'll go no more a ro -oovin' with you, fair maid!

    (chorus)

    A-rovin', a-ro -oovin',

Since ro-vin's been my ru -i - in,

    I'll go no more a ro - O -vin'!

    With you, faire maid!

Her cheeks were red, her eyes were brown,

Mark well what I do say,

Her cheeks were red her eyes were brown her curly hair was hangin' down

I'll go no more a ro - o - vin'! With you, faire maid!

    (chorus)

I took that faire maid for a walk,

Mark well what I do say,

I took that faire maid for a walk,

    Aaaaand!

We had such a loving talk! I'll go no more a ro -O -vin'! with you, faire maid!

    (chorus)

I put my hand upon her knee,

Mark well what I do say,

I put my hand upon her knee,

She said, "Young man, you're rather freee...."

I'll go no more a ro -O -vin'! with you, faire maid!

    (chorus)

I put my arm around her waist,

Mark well what I do say,

I put my arm around her waist,

She said, "Young man, you're in great haste....!"

I'll go no more a ro -O -vin'! with you, faire maid!

(chorus) and either repeat chorus and fade out or add your own verses!!

Best sung with a tankard of rum, chipped beef, and dry ship's biscuits in front of you....

When I used to believe then I thought there were a few good kingdom songs.

I still remember "Were Jehovahs Witnesses" , Shulamite maiden. Take sides with Jehovah.

Those were around back in the 70's I dont know if they are still around.

When I was a dub we had piano players and orchestras at the assemblies.

I left when they went to the tapes and phonographs.

Oh yes, named in french The divine pattern of love. As far as I can remember (was already in the old paperback purple song book) the title has been translated word for word from English. I chose it for my wedding and always found it moving. Don't know if it is a JW urban legeng, it is said to have been composed by an imprisoned JW.

Good news everyone! I've invented a device that makes you hear my voice in your head while you read!

Surely these are all good tunes to get things going at the kingdom halls no?!

    All the best,

    Yes, I do get them stuck in my head but I change the words. For example;

(Sung to the tune of myriads and myriads of brothers)

    Millions and millions of idiots

    All wearing their dunce caps

    Their everlasting bulls**t

    Pelting us day and night

And then there is this one sung to the tune of we're Jehovah's witnesses. Forgive my lack of song writing skills.

We make gods of pulp and print

but of truth we have no hint

    Such is our Jehovah

    Demon god of old...

Other gods are deaf and dumb

Ours is blind as well you see...

    We're Jehovah's witlesses

    We speak out in mindlesness

Ours is the god of false prophecy

What he foretells comes to naught
