I really don't understand some people's fear of President Obama. From the accusations that he's a closet socialist, closet Muslim, to he's going to take everyone's guns, there seems to be a fair few who are either paranoid, fearful of anyone not exactly like them, or just plain stupid.

So here's the latest: backwards masking. Personally I hear "ec u say", but some bozos hear "thank you Satan". And this is, of course, proof Obama is the anti-Christ.

To say these people are retards is to compliment them.

    Too funny.

Only somebody obsessed with Satan would hear "thank you Satan" in that clip.

I've often wondered where the right wing nut jobs got their juice and now I know-- it's from SATAN!

    Fear, Fear and more Fear

This sentence sums it up. That's what it's all about

Usual reverse speech nonsense. It's fun though. Here it is "yes we can" as Obama says it phonetically:

¬ yεs wikãen and ¬ yεs wikãe -> nãekiw sεy ¬ and ãekiw sεy ¬

Obama varies between pronouncing the final /n/ and only nasalizing the preceding vowel, like any normal person. When reversed, the nasalized vowel precedes the [k] and thus sounds like "ank". And "we" (wi) backwards sounds like "you" (iw). So "ãek iw" can easily be misheard as "ank you" or "thank you". The "yes" has an abrupt onset (there is nothing preceding it), and when this is reversed this sudden onset sounds like a rapid offset, making it sound like a consonantal stop like a /t/ or /k/. So sεy ¬ sounds like sεyt and that is the first syllable in "Satan" (sεyt∂n, or sεytn). And if the /y/ onset is nasalized as can clearly be heard in a few cases, then this can give the impression of sεy¬ ending with an /n/.

Since most of what he had to say with regular speech was unintelligible, I suppose it's a waste of time to backmask ol' GW.
