When in the upper grades I always used my paticapation in a arrogant/disrespectful sort of way and dared athority to say anything. Telling them it was my religious freedom and before tring to require participation they needed to become a little more informed.

Oh, this has racism and xenophobia written all over it. Hard to believe it'll go far.
I still have trouble saying the pledge of allegience. It just seems odd to, almost cultluike, this group chanting.
And Gill, you're sending your kids to a church-run school, and then are upset that they make the kids pray?
