Just looked it up and found that Shrove Tuesday is celbrated or observed in the UK and Ireland. We have Mardi Gras here, and it's TODAY! Didn't know about the other names, and it's not even in the local news!

In our area folks eat Paczkis, super -rich jelly donuts. One of the managers in the building bought seven dozen and brought them in. Wonder what it cost her.

What is the traditional lemon/sugar? That sounds interesting.
(stuff with chocolate or jelly goo is disgusting to me)
Does your recipe use lemon juice, or zest, or lemon extract?
I would be using a prepared batter max. I like Krustez mix.

I just use lemon juice and sugar.
Some use jif lemon, which is lemon juice in a sqeezy bottle.
Yummy.
