I haven't been to a meeting in 12 years.
I did take care of personal "study" tonight though.I'm sure you did!!

I quit!
Its kind of ironic because I hadn't gone to a book study since around 1980 and just this week I said "hey I need to start going to the book study again". So here I am with my book eager to underline and parrot their prepackaged answer back to them and now I have no where to go. I'm sorely disappointed.

I haven't been to a group study for the last 5 years but my wife is a regular attender. It was strange to have her in all evening last night.
What is interesting is that her 'personal' study time consisted of preparing for the new book study, the school and service meeting - all things she would have done anyway! -

I filled it w/ playing monopoly w/ my daughter. And then reading "Charlotte's web". Far more intriguing than the revalation book, or the James book, or any of the other horseshit. Frankly, I haven't really worried about bookstudy, or thought about it in anyway, other than the excellent tea and bearclaws my grandparents served in the 1970's or the biscuits and gravy we'd get at the local coffeeshop in the late 80's afterwards. Otherwise? Bookstudy somehow longer and more boring than the 2 hour meetings. Closer settings. More JW's close to shussh or whack the crap outta you if you moved/laughed/goofed on anything. Bookstudy? Go Eff yourself, and RIP

to reassign group members
Sounds like a euphemism for eliminate
On a serious note though what we tend to ignore that is the fact that elders will be still be responsible looking after 'groups' of people. But I cannot see that this is going to be very successful, without the actual group study on a weekly basis the R&F will quickly lose that sense of belonging. It will be like trying to herd cats. -

Yes I agree - this is going to change the dynamics.
