The strange absence of meeting

Does anyone else feel a large gaping void in their life tonight now that the book study has been abandoned?

I mean I hardly ever go to the meetings these days but I still like the feeling that they are there even if I am not physically present.

Tuesday without a meeting is just weird.

Is this religion falling apart? Sunday to Thursday is a long time if you are a believer. I wonder how people will cope with the change. Is the Watchtower Society calling it a day?

Oh, and in case anyone is unsure of how I feel about there being no meeting tonight...

    I haven't been to a meeting in 12 years.

I did take care of personal "study" tonight though.

I see the lack of meeting is already leading to bad habits such as bad language.

    Greetings, Slimboyfat:

Silence may speak volumes, and absence makes the heart grow fonder ...

But ... out of sight, out of mind?

Yes. The Watchtower doomsday clock, however once strictly held to without equivocation, does seem to be unticking. Can we continue to set our watches by Society clockwork?

Actually I haven't been to a "book study" for almost 8 years. The first one I missed didn't affect me any more than this week. I will say that I preferred that meeting since it was only 1 hour long, a small group, and in someone's home, seemed more intimate. But I don't miss only 2 out of 10 commenting, and those comments mostly being a re-reading of the paragraph.

    i was just thinking tonight
as i drove part of the route
    that would have taken me
    to a book study.....

"man, i bet THEY are glad
    to have that responsibility
    lifted!!!....."
(youngish elder, younger wife, 4 kids under 8)

however, i am betting the "big meeting night"
is gonna suck in the big leagues....
but the drones are adaptive, ya gotta give them that

It took them this long to realize something that I knew should have happened long long ago. It pisses me off that so many people had to suffer their ridiculously stubborn, wash-up-to-the-elbow-as-we-drive-you-to-your-grave demands in the interim. As moronic leaders go, they're remarkable.
