Saw it last night.
It was OK. Crap enough ending, like they ran out of money.
The original was awesome. The original Gort - scary as all hell.
The new Gort was OK but they didn't use him enough - he needed to kick some more arse.

It was a very disappointing movie. I agree with all comments. I couldn’t understand why they wasted their time making this movie. If you are going to make a remake, it should be at least as good as the original, if not better. I would recommend this movie to no one.

I think I would have smacked Will Smith's kid on several occasions during that movie. That side plot was annoying. Gort was magnificent looking and should have been watching over Klatu as he was designed to do. Like break the hell out of confinement...and how did they EVER confine him to begin with? That was stupid....and let Gort go get his boss out of custody like he was supposed to. Let the aliens take all our garbage dumps with them when they leave, suck up all the space junk too on the way out...and let Keanu Reeves fall in love with the woman and decide to stay like that Chinese guy he was talking to at McDonalds.

And hey..McDonalds? Get your sponsorship money back.

I saw the original last night for the first time and liked it. Have no desire to see the new one after critic's and viewer's reviews.

I saw it too, it was a POS. I wish they could have done better, then an enviromental political movie. Reeves is not the best actor, kind of once character in all the movies.

Yes! Klaatu said the famous words to Gort himself - right at the beginning of the film when the spaceship had just landed.
Gort was just about to fry the sheila.
