I just read the Nov 15, WT - what a laugh.

So they admit some leave over their teachings and then they say there's no where else to go. What a joke - they are liars.

Was It a Problem With a Teaching?

10 Some may have left God's flock because they did not agree with some Scriptural
teaching. The Israelites freed from Egyptian bondage "forgot [God's] works" on their behalf
and "did not wait for his counsel." (Ps. 106:13) It may be helpful to remind an inactive
one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food.
    (Matt. 24:45)
That is how the person originally learned the truth. So why should he not be determined to walk in the truth again? -2 John 4.

11 When endeavoring to help those who have strayed from God's flock, the elder
might refer to the disciples who abandoned Jesus because of rejecting one of his teachings. (John 6:53, 66)
By cutting off association with Christ and his faithful followers, they lost their spirituality and their joy.
Have those who stopped associating with the Christian congregation found another place where there is rich spiritual food?
    No, for there is none!

What makes it "rich and excellent"?

Everytime they are wrong in their view and have to correct themselves, does this make their "spiritual food" rich and excellent??

I'm telling you: these people are stoopid.

Notice they can never come out and say what teachings are causing their sheep to stumble over. To do so would invite serious critical discussion of their teachings, so all they can do is issue blanket statements.

As an added incentive for those who might be considering going back:

Urge Them to Take Action Today!

19 We are living in the last days, and the end of the present system of things is imminent.
Therefore, encourage inactive ones to attend Christian meetings. Urge them to start
attending immediately. Point out that Satan is trying to destroy their relationship with
    God
and make them think that relief from life's burdens can come by abandoning true
worship. You can assure them that only by being Jesus' faithful followers can they enjoy
    true refreshment.-Read Matthew 11:28-30.

    word play:

We are living in the last days

the end of the present system of things is imminent

Satan is trying to destroy their relationship with God

Completely agree with you Min - they know darn well why people leave.

I spoke to a Bethite who used to be in our hall - he was a secretary and his job was to write answers to the many letters that came in from the brothers and the public. You can't tell me that reading carefully crafted doctrine-deconstructing letters can't have an affect on the mind!

    A nugget from paragraph 20

20 Remind inactive ones that God expects us to do what we can. When Lazarus' sister
Mary was criticized for anointing Jesus with expensive perfumed oil shortly before his
death, he said: "Let her alone .... She did what she could." (Mark 14:6-8) Jesus praised
the needy widow who made a very small contribution at the temple. She also did what
she could. (Luke 21:1-4) Most of us can attend Christian meetings and share in the
Kingdom-preaching work With Jehovah's help, many of those now inactive will be able
    to do the same things.

21 If a sheep like one who has strayed from the flock fears facing his brothers again, you
might remind him of the rejoicing that occurred when the prodigal son came home.
Those returning to the congregation are a cause of similar joy. Encourage them to act
now to oppose the Devil and draw close to God.-Jas. 4:7,8.

22 A joyful welcome awaits those returning to Jehovah. (Lam. 3:40) Their past experiences
in God's service undoubtedly brought them great joy. Untold future blessings await
those who return to the flock without delay!

Get yer ass back to the Kingdom Hall now for those untold (and unlikely) future blessings!

Some may have left God's flock because they did not agree with some Scriptural
    teaching.

That's a cult reminder that EVERYTHING in the WT literature is a SCRIPTURAL TEACHING.

The Israelites freed from Egyptian bondage "forgot [God's] works" on their behalf
and "did not wait for his counsel." (Ps. 106:13) It may be helpful to remind an inactive
one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food.
    (Matt. 24:45)

Reinforcement. GOD's WORKS are the same as the "help" from the FDS.
    Irrelevant scriptures prove that.

That is how the person originally learned the truth. So why should he not be determined to walk in the truth again? -2 John 4.

Cult reminder- It's the truth. The Truth. The TRUTH, truth, truth.

When endeavoring to help those who have strayed from God's flock, the elder
might refer to the disciples who abandoned Jesus because of rejecting one of his teachings. (John 6:53, 66)

Cult reminders. They are straying from God's flock. They are just the same as
those who abandoned Jesus. Rejecting a teaching of WTS is the same. The
little scripture (regardless of what it says) proves that.

By cutting off association with Christ and his faithful followers, they lost their spirituality and their joy.

Cult reminder- You didn't shun them. They cut you off and forced you into that situation.
They are miserable, no matter what you hear.

Have those who stopped associating with the Christian congregation found another place where there is rich spiritual food? No, for there is none!

As one who critically started to examine the Bible, I can actually agree with the last sentence.
THERE IS NONE. But for the rest of you, it's a cult reminder that only they have rich spiritual food
and you are doomed if you leave.

    Truthseeker,

The problem with the statement about following Jesus is that they don't follow his teachings, they follow the teachings of angry bitter old men in New York that work under the name Watchtower!

I particularly love this little puddle of bile. What "association with Christ" does the average Dub have, exactly? Christ is not their mediator; they don't pray to him; they don't talk about him; every week they study a book about a bunch of Old Testament prophets. Lost their spirituality? Spirituality is about asking questions, not blindly accepting answers. Lost their joy? What joy? The joy of stuffing yourself into a button up collared shirt, tie, thick wool suit, and hot, pinchy leather shoes, and waddling your sweaty ass around in 40 degree heat ringing the doorbells of empty houses to sell filthy rags for a bunch of miserable old fuckups in Crooklyn? That's the kind of joy I can do without.

Really? I'm pretty sure that over a billion Christians from other denominations would disagree.

    What a bunch of knobs.

SEZ WHO????? I went to a Unitarian meeting and found it very unoffesive, interesting without doctrines shoved down your throat. Most of the people there seemed very educated. Very nice breath of fresh air.
