Is there a breaking point for JW?

    Hey BonaFide (in good faith).

The breaking point is different for each individual.

For me it was seeing that the organization is does

not look for the benefit of the sheep. They look for

their own benefit, no matter what the cost to the

brothers and sisters in the faith. That clearly told

me they were full of it and the feeling has grown over

the years. You can only say you care for the sheep so

many times and not show it before it becomes obvious

how flagrantly greedy and uncaring the WT organizational

machine is. It has a spirit of its own, it has become

a beast of Apocalyptic proportions, once you get bitten

by the beast in sheep's clothing it hurts, and it will

sooner or later bite. It always bites. Some JWs have a

higher tolerance than others for pain, and some even

like it, some even bite others in return and like the

taste of blood, usually those end up in posts of authority.

But so many shy away from the biting beast that it needs

to keep finding new blood to feed on, because it's nothing

but a blood sucking, life taking machine without a soul.

I feel really bad for all the brothers and sisters who

are truly sheep being abused and mistreated by this

medieval, megalomaniacal machine incorporated that speaks

grandiose things about itself while demeaning those who

would follow Christ if only shown how. I'm fully convinced

that the vast majority of R&F JWs are good people, they

want to do what is right and treat others right, and

want to follow a life based on the principles found

    in the Scriptures.

Wheeew, glad I got that out.

But then when I was a missionary, and I personally went to the branch office about a pedophile, and they told me to leave it in Jehovah's hands, and that Jehovah will erase the girl's mind and to stay out of it, that really bothered me. I couldnt sleep.

Did they really honestly tell you that Jehovah will erase the girl's mind? Did they mean in "the new system?" What does that do for her now? Or did they mean somehow miraculously in this lifetime it would be done?

Either way, that is just so maddening.

Yes, they did say that Jehovah would erase the girl's mind of her abuse.

I was standing at the door of the Service Department, I still remember it so well. The brother said, "Jehova le va a borrar la mente de la hermanita en el nuevo mundo."

"Jehovah will erase the mind of that little sister in the New World."

Incredible story, Dear Bonafide... heartbreaking and absolutely MADDENING.

I love what your brother said to you, "How many years before you start to realize what is really going on?" Incredible. Have you let him know about your new discoveries?

I'm happy he can be there for you.

Love to you (always good to see your posts)
    Baba.

Is there anything that the GB could decide, or say, or do, or is there anything that could happen that could actually cause mainstream, active, believing JW's to see what is really going on?

    What would it take?

For some, the GB would have to say, "We do not have the truth. We lied to you."

For others, ridiculous statements could wake them up. Perhaps they would hear
enough if the GB said, "We are shutting the doors of our 'ark' and preparing for the end."

But for others, that would just draw them in tighter.

There may very well be something that could happen to cause the majority to flee or at
least wake up to reality. But even if they continue to make stupid statements and
tighten their controls, they should be able to avoid stumbling everyone out.
