And what if the hounders are wrong? What if they are irreversibly damaging the spirit of the congregation? Or, if they are permanently setting certain people up for everlasting celibacy that is only going to make such people unable to perform, and then expecting them to perform better anyways? If they are not corrected at once, opportunities to improve or even hold together are going to be lost forever.

And they wonder why so many congregations are losing members. I have seen many of the effects of such bad decisions right on this board. Those people were in it to serve God, and they were pxxxed off by persistent problems the hounders were perpetrating. The excuse of them being "not of our sort" ranks up there among the lamest excuses I have ever heard from that organization. Definitely, if it is blatant that someone in power is wrong, there needs to be a mechanism to fix the problem before it becomes more serious.

Pioneering? I suggest making the most of the opportunities to prove that it does not make one happier, and post it on this board.

    yknot -

I stand behind my comments --

Im sorry if it is viewed as if it is disrespectful. I am a nice person, but that is what i believe. This is a discussion forum, i asked questions -- isnt that okay?

"if you dont like the organization, why are you a pioneer? Or did you get these comments secondhand? If you have problems being a pioneer, you certainly shouldnt be so two faced so as to post in derision on an internet board of ex-jws -- thats cowardly."

You asked questions, so I will answer them.

Because I have to be one and it's a good extra curricular activity; it gives me people skills and I can learn to rationalize and "debate" so-to-speak better with people. Plus it rids me of stage fright.

No, I jotted these down directly into Shining As Illuminators in the World book.

Well that third sentence isn't a question at all, but I will tell you that you shouldn't tell me what to do, as you have said we must for OURSELVES "pray" and decide what is the truth. It is rather hypocritical that two seconds afterwards you contradict yourself. . .

And it's not cowardly at all. Do you know the definition of that word?

hmmm im trying to make sense of that --

the point of the course, quite clearly - is to progress within the org as a full time preacher.

You are doing it for other reasons, and then slagging off what you hear?

    yeah, cowardly.

shit or get off the pot baby ;)

....that might be the WTS point.....but many are there to up the KH cred...

In some KHs pioneer school is a given much like going to some sort of bethel program in NY is a given...an it ain't nothing special but more of an expected obligation like attending your parents alma mater....

Don't box in your thinking.....we all have many things in common but each of our experiences are unique

BTW I know many pioneers who completely fudge their time.....and yes they are considered to be the most faithful by the CO & DO.

Many JW especially born-ins and raised understand the 'game' and ladder of the WTS.

I love that -- don't waste your time on the weak just help those close to pioneering already. What happened to the pioneers assist others program??

This was a hoot. Thanks for posting an insider's look at Pioneer School. Funny and spine chilling at the same time.

    ---------------

Asking for a chorus cry of "fleshly" vs. "spiritual" to various prayer examples gave me the heebie geebies! = Brainwashing and Peer Pressure tactics!

    -----------------

This takes the cake, and is, to me, the biggest apostasy of all: "They should ask for the FDS as to show their submissiveness and thus understanding of God's Kingdom's structure."

In other words, move farther over Holy Spirit and on out the door, we don't need you, as we have the FDS as our "Teacher, Comforter, Guide/ Spirit of Truth" and "Remembrancer." - John 14:16; 14:26; 15:26; 16:7

    ----------------------

Unbelievable they actually spoke about "increasing... the UNEASINESS of householders." ;-/ It is the Holy Spirit who "convicts" people and makes them uneasy (John 16:8), and not WT's manipulative "recruitment tactics."

    -----------------------

"...women are NOT less equal; if they were, Jah wouldn't have included them in his group of 144,000 anointed."

If WT would only read the Bible for what it says: "These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from [among] men, [being] firstfruits to God and to the Lamb." - Rev. 14:4; 7:1-8.

    ----------------------

"Our other instructor said that 'not all pioneers are spiritual' "

And they should have added, "and not all those who are spiritual are pioneers..." ;-)

    ----------------------

Shining As Illuminators in the World -- So is the WT using the word "illuminators" more frequently these days in all their various literature? I'd be curious to know if they are ramping up the use of certain words (brotherhood, illuminated ones, etc.)

And do they still use "organization" about 3 times in every sentence?

Is FDS being drilled in more and more?

    etc.

    ------------------------------

It looks impossible to crack the "blinded minds" of those still in bondage to WT dogma (such as Paul was a GB member, etc. Hilarious and Sad at the same time!) But with God all things are possible...

    Thanks for the great post.

Abbagail, those were some awesome insights!

I hadn't even thought about the anointed and them not doing it with women.

I take it they are trying to give everyone a special title, the pioneers are the "illuminators" now. That's what our instructors referred to us as over and over; I guess they were trying to make us feel special.

We talked about the pioneers assist program, but he said we shouldn't waste our time with those who we can't see becoming pioneers, only with those who are close or who we could "encourage" to become pioneers and actually have them go through with it.

it has to do with integrity.

The poster isnt displaying any by doing what he is doing.

im sure in other parts of his life he does -- but this would be inconsistent with that.

Why do you feel the need to attack me? I really don't understand why you just keep barraging me with accusations that have no basis. . .you don't know me, don't you realize that?
