this apology doesnt sit well with me.

    this stinks.

first deny it as a library card.

then send out the feelers with ciro whats his face to see if they get their balls cut off.

    ridiculous.

why not make a public apology? you know, they might gain some respect by doing that.

not from me, but maybe the next guy.

It makes since if you know Ciro.
He does a lot of things based on emotion. Public apology you will not get from WT Corp.

They will stick to the library card unless documentation from UN proves that the ones involved knew what they were signing. Without that you can kiss this swept under the carpet.

I did see this posted at a JW site but I think it is old news.On November 6, 2001, an announcement was made to the Bethel Family.
The announcement was basically a reading of the letter that was sent
    to the branches.

Here is a synopsis of what was said:
In 1991 the Society registered with the Department of Public
Information of the United Nations as a nongovernmental organization
    (NGO).

This registration allowed the Society to have access to
research material available on health, ecological, and social
problems at the United Nations library facilities here in New York
    City.

Although we had been using the library for many years before
1991, in that year it became necessary to register as an NGO to have
continued access. The registration papers filed with the United
Nations that the Society had on file contained no statements that
    conflict with our Christian beliefs.

In addition, all NGOs are informed by the United Nations that
"association of NGOs [nongovernmental organization] with the
DPI [Department of Public Information] does not constitute their
incorporation into the United Nations system, nor does it entitle
associated organizations or their staff to any kind of privileges,
    immunities or special status."

However, the latest version of the Criteria for Association of NGOs
contained language that the Society cannot subscribe to. When the
Society realized this, they immediately withdrew their registration.
The letter concluded with the words, _We are grateful that this
matter was brought to our attention,_ and signed by the Chairman_s
    Committee.

Hi blondie, that was basically a letter that was circulated to all congregations to help answer questions arising out of this issue.

It surprises me why some have to apologise...it seems that there is nothing to be sorry about according to the WTS statement.

    Blondie:
This is completely seperate from what was read at Bethel table.

He was NOT instructed to do this in his congregation. [=:0]

I wonder if some were just stupid and other devious of those in charge in NYC? JWs are notorious for disobeying when it suits them. Gossip is the lifesblood of the congregation.

Lookin, can you post anything more specific as to what exactly was admitted to? Do you have the date this was said on and what congregation this apology was issued in?

    Thanks,

    Path

Technically speaking, since the JW public encompasses more than one cong. It's not really a public apology at all,if this did happen. We have only hearsay.

Jesse jackson,Jim bakker and Jimmy swaggart have written an impressive new book-it's called"Ministers do More Than Lay People"
