    I visited my son in prison. Modern facility. Three squares a day. His own bed. A little recreation.

    Even as a visitor, I hated the prison. The locked doors and endless procedures gave me an instant case of claustrophobia. No matter how you slice it, imprisonment cages freedom.

    If I needed scaring straight, a short visit to the prison would do it for me. Even if I were wearing a visitor's badge.
