And last night I found out that the movie "The 40 year old virgin" is a no-no. We were watching Dancing with the Stars and Def Leppard came on as the musical guest and played "Pour some sugar on me" (one of my personal favs), my mother asked if I thought my pastor would approve and I shot back what would he have to with it. She said well because of the words in the song. I told mom I'm a 42 year old woman (who's had sex many times to count-well I've lost track) and I don't have to run to my pastor to get permission to listen to a song that I've been listening to for over 20 year now. Can you tell the visit is going smashingly well? I've got more to tell nut I'll do it later cuz right now I'm in a doctor's office in my iPhone :D

    DANG!

    I thought you meant JWD!

    Oh well. Hang in there.

Do they usually leave after 3 days?

Or hang around until they start to smell?

Lol...same as Open Mind, I thought you meant HERE...I was going to say 'Congrats' ...I've not seen the film '40 Year Old Virgin' (is it 'racy'?), but I thought being a virgin at 40 is something the WT would promote!

My dad and his wife came up for a visit last this month. I try to be respectful to him, but my brother goes out of his way to shock and awe them. He put a copy of Crisis Of Conscience on the coffee table for them to read while they were at his house. Hilarious.

    I would do that.

MrsJones, hope it goes well. Don't you miss having to check in with an elder to make sure you are watching the right movie? Geez!

I would be tempted to tell the folks - "Better head to bed now. Hubby and I are planning on watching some good porn, then have oral sex all night. Unless you think my Pastor would approve of that, better head up and get a good nights sleep. I wouldn't want you to have to bear that burden"

That would shut up the holier-than-thou talk I bet.

Ok I'm back on my PC. I'm glad to see my parents along with whatever baggage they bring, it's just a bit offputting sometimes and makes me want to do evil get back at them when they start on the jw crap - stuff like take all of their mags or place copies of anti-jw stuff in my father's bookbag. Last night my father gave my daughter a copy of the great teacher book (I think my parents forgot that they had already given the kids a copy five years ago which has found a nice home in my garage) my daughter looked at the cover, made a funny comment (hm apples and oranges ) then promptly passed the book to her younger brother. This morning I took the book and put it back in my father's bookbag. I don't plan on saying anything about it unless they bring it up.

About the song and movie issue, I can think of so many songs that are favs of my mother (Let's get it on - Marvin Gaye, Tonight's the night you make me your woman - Millie Jackson, You make me feel like a natural woman - Aretha Franklin) that all sing about sex (and are good songs too) that I was exposed to when I was a child by my mother (over and over again) and she has been a baptised jw since before my birth. And movies, my parent watch anything they want in their own home, I have been there when they have watched stuff racier than "The 40 year old Virgin" (which I think was cute and rather benign).

So I'm going to try not to confront, they won't be here long, cuz I just don't feel up to it.

But I will keep reporting to you all the silly and funny stuff that they may do. Hopefully they wont't lose their heads and do something evil and stupid though someone did take down my cross I have hanging by my front door.

P.S. Hubby and I think all the replies were very funny
