Thanks fot your input; I will research your comment further because my past reading indicated that Packard was healthy and viable when the corporation bought Studebaker (not vice versa) and the 1956 was the last TRUE Packard.
The 1957 and 1958 models were actually upgraded 'Bakers, hence the disparaging appellation: "Packardbaker."
