I would concur with the fact that Jesus never ever flat out lied......under circumstances only.

    1) Jesus never actually existed....meaning his supposed existence and all he had supposedly done was a straight out lie devised by smart people.
    2) He did exist but the stories about him are composed by very smart people decades (5) after he changed the temporal for the eternal. Given the contradictory nature and the plagiarism of at least parts of the total body of the words attributed to him, the stories are made up and therefore straight out lies.
    3) He did exist. All the words attributed to him were genuinely uttered by him. Given the contradictory nature and plagiarism of at least parts of the total body of the words attributed to him, would make him a bold faced liar.

En resumen: Either way: Jesus is on par with his ancestrally heritage: a liar declared righteous. Wasn't there a scripture warning us about people declaring right what was wrong?......

    Cheers

    Rahab isn't the only one!

Samson flat out lied to Delilah three times: (Judges16:13)13 After that De·li´lah said to Samson: "Up till now you have trifled with me that you might speak lies to me. Do tell me with what you can be tied." Then he said to her: "If you will weave the seven braids of my head with the warp thread."

There was no reason he 'had too' lie for god or anything. He could have just not answered.

Then there's Abraham, like 007 said earlier. He lied about his wife.

And Isaac did the exact same thing!

    (Genesis

26:6-11)6 So Isaac went on dwelling at Ge´rar. 7 Well, the men of the place kept asking with respect to his wife, and he would say: "She is my sister." For he was afraid to say "My wife" for fear that, to quote him, "the men of the place should kill me because of Re·bek´ah," because she was attractive in appearance. 8 So it came about that as his days there extended themselves A·bim´e·lech, king of the Phi·lis´tines, was looking out of the window and taking in the sight, and there was Isaac having a good time with Re·bek´ah his wife. 9 At once A·bim´e·lech called Isaac and said: "Why, she is no other than your wife! So how is it that you said, ‘She is my sister’?" At this Isaac said to him: "I said it for fear I should die on her account."10 But A·bim´e·lech continued: "What is this you have done to us? A little more and certainly one of the people would have lain down with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us!" 11 Then A·bim´e·lech commanded all the people, saying: "Anybody touching this man and his wife will surely be put to death!"

So we have five or six 'righteous' Biblical liars so far: Abraham, his wife Sarah, Isaac, possibly his wife Rebekah, Rahab and Samson.

Can we think of any more?

Stupidest wt logic ever. You got that right pontiac.Anytime I open a wbts pubilcation I get sick to my stomach.

Example: In one of their lame books,"What is involved in knowing Jehovah? It is comparable to the difference between reading about love and falling in love"

Now folks tell me what is the Bible,is it not about READING about God.How can you fall in love with someone who is 1000 miles away and only writes you one letter. You can read that letter a million times without ever falling in love with that person. You would be talking to yourself w/o the other person saying........................................................................................................oh,you can't make out the dots, see

If it is good for you to lie and hide things, doesn't that kind of kill the purpose of "making a stand".

Why didn't the JWs in Nazi Germany lie to the government about who they where?

    Oh, I forgot Jacob.

Lying to his father and saying that he was Esau: (Genesis27:24)24 After that he said: "You are really my son E´sau?" to which he said: "I am."

Apparently Yahweh approved of this, since he honored the blessing. And Jacob was also considered righteous.

I don't think the next watchtower will feature an indepth study on this ethical question. As we know no real intellectual study is found in any watchtower. It is nothing more than narrow minded propaganda suited for people that unfortunately in many cases want to shut off their brains to anything that may create a conflict in their beliefs.
