Which Hotel in VEGAS is your favourite??????

Just been to The Bellagio for 6 days - absolutely loved it!

Visited most of the big Hotels - loved the Wynn with it's in house Ferrari showroom.

Venetian was also awe inspiring.

Mandalay Bay was impressive for its size - including a 12,000 seat auditorium and an underwater shark experience.

Luxor was also amazing and MGM Grand is the worlds biggest hotel with over 5000 rooms.

For shopping Caezars Palace was fantastic - the Forum shops were something else!

Loved some of the'original' (say, more than 15 years old!) hotels, Flamingo, Circus Circus etc.

Paris and New York,New York were not really my thing but spectacular in their own way.

I could go on forever but suffice to say that for the best views a meal at the top of the Stratosphere is a must, but the best meal we had was at Picasso at the Bellagio.

I have to say that taking style, quality amenities and that extra special feel of a top 5 star hotel, I believe that we made the right choice by staying (lake side view is a must and a high floor is better) at the wonderful BELLAGIO.

I loved your assessment. I found the unique part of nearly every hotel magnificent.
I stayed at a few different ones and I enjoy the variety and the locations.

Mandalay Bay had wonderful sharks and jellyfish. Other than Mandalay Bay, there wasn't that
much to capture my attention at that far end of the strip (nearest the airport).

Imperial Palace (very old) had coupons in the mags and on the internet for their antique car
collection. I thought it would be lame, but it was totally cool- millions of dollars worth of antiques.

Even though Siegfried and Roy are finished, the animal exhibit with dolphins and tigers was cool.
The free birds on display at Flamingo is worth the walk.

Paris had some of the best food. Bally's really has no big attractions, but it is right in the middle,
great place to stay to go in all different directions from.

Hilton's Star Trek experience isn't geeky enough. Do it bigger and geekier. Circus Circus is getting
old- they will tear it down soon for something newer.

Downtown- unless you are a gambler that likes a change of pace, it is not glitzy enough. Still, it
was different.

I have only been to Vegas one time. I went almost 3 years ago for my honeymoon and stayed at the Paris. The Hotel was great and the food was amazing. The Paris buffet was "forgetabout it". Had the most fun gambling at Cesar's Place and at New York, New York.

Thanks for your synopsis - I agree with most of what you say though I thought the lions etc at Seigfreid and Roy's Secret Garden were kept in enclosures which were far too small. Walking through the casino at Flamingo impressed with the sheer size of it and it was cool to see the birds. also some of the art deco touches were neat.

I thought that The Golden Nugget and the whole Fremont St area was interesting - you really got a feel of how Vegas was twenty to forty odd years ago. It's interesting how the heart of Vegas has moved to the 'Strip'.

There is a massive new residential and hotel complex being built next to the Bellagio - it truly will be massive.

Didn't have time to see it all but thoroughly enjoyed seeing Jerry Seinfeld at Caesars and the O show at the Bellagio was stupendous.

I also thought that the Casino at the Bellagio for me had it all - opulant, not seedy but welcoming. I enjoyed gambling for the first time properly in my life!

I live in Las Vegas and I avoid the strip like the plague. Before I moved here Mandalay Bay was my favorite place to stay.

Why do you avoid the Strip at all costs?

Is it because of all the tourists and the traffic?

Or is it because your job does not involve the tourist trade?

Yes TD it is the CityCentre project.

The prices for such hot real estate seem very reasonable - I think I saw prices starting as low as $300k, that's £155K for an apartment right in the heart of America's fastest growing city.

Prices for London would be at least 4 times at much.
