I was not sure if this topic was going 2 be brought up to day but today in the US its MLK (Martin Luther King Jr. day and folks here are enjoying their holiday off, for me their is no school. But i really wanted to reflect all the achievements from the civil rights movement until now. Blacks and African-Americans have come along way especially from racism and discrimination and some of the remarks from the WT regarding blacks and interracial relationships etc. So yeah Dr.king inspired me to dream and reach high beyond my goals from the WT perspective So all in all i wanted to express my appreciation of a great man who paveded the way and broke the chains of repression. I LUV U Dr. King

Hey, little one of my heart.

You may want to check out this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardner_Taylor

While Dr. King did great things in raising a nation's consciousness, the way was paved long before he was born. He, to paraphrase Isaac Newton roughly, simply stood on the shoulders of giants - Dr. Taylor being one of those giants.

Much love to you and a wish for success in your studies.

This nation still has much to learn from this great man. Here is a quote that makes it clear that we still have a long way to go...

"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching
    spiritual death."

Here is the site where you can read more quotes...

Thanks Snowbird and BFD these are really good sites you'll be surpised at some of the stuff that has been left out in the history books in pertiang to slavery/civil rights. i think this is the first time in a long time that i paid omage to someone who made a difference in the world and in my life.

I think he would be most proud of the day that he isn't remembered anymore...because racism has become so far gone it isn't even a memory.

    Not in our lifetimes.

So sad that it takes a murder for someone's cause to receive the attention it deserves.
