When I served on JCs in the '70s the majority concerned sexual infractions. I am only guessing, but I get the impression that today it may be "apostasy" in the majority, or at least running neck and neck with sexual sins.

Does anyone have any insight on the current mix of JC matters?

Up to Summer of 2006, the vast majority was still for fornication. The majority was young ones
who were barely adults or in their twenties. That's the story from my point of view.

    Hi there Gregor!

This is the latest I could find:

    *** w89 4/1 p. 13 Hear What the Spirit Says to the Congregations ***

Has Satan tried to introduce a Balaam or a Jezebel influence into the Christian congregation today? He certainly has, to the extent that almost 40,000 a year are disfellowshipped, most because of immorality.

    *** w87 9/15 p. 13 Breathing This World’s "Air" Is Death-Dealing! ***

Unfortunately, during the 1986 service year, 37,426 had to be disfellowshipped from the Christian congregation, the greater number of them for practicing sexual immorality. And this does not include the even higher number reproved for immorality but not disfellowshipped because they were sincerely repentant.

I recall reading that the ratio is about 80% for sexual sins.

From my little corner of the universe:

About 80-90% "fornication / adultery", the rest would be primarily drunkenness, drugs, slander. Charges of apostasy are still pretty rare. That may change as the years progress.

I DA'd when charged with 'Apostacy'. I imagine the rumors of sexual sins got started later. Anyone knows that any good apostate must also be a whore-monger.

    Jeff, so true, me too.

Well, obviously I was way off in my perspective on the apostate/immorality ratio. Could that be because I am so focused on the apostasy issue and the WTS getting more vocal and watchful of it. After all, 1 apostate can do more damage to them than 100 fornicators.

My experience was about 90% sexual "sins" and the rest substance abuse (drugs, alcohol). I was only an elder for about 10 years and in that time, NEVER saw an apostacy charge. Once, I've been in a congregation where someone was DF'ed for apostacy.

At the rate I'm going, it is going to either be for worshiping the sun or for apostasy. I only wish I could add straight fornication to the mix, but so far Jehovah BAGHEAD has filtered out anything that could lead me in that direction.

In case Jehovah thinks He is going to benefit from that stupid, selfish, and vile course, all it's going to do is hasten my progress to Emperor Class on this forum. And it will be much harsher beatings on the Watchtower Society, since without a wife or girlfriend to temper my posts, they are going to be all the more damaging to that organization.

For sure, I doubt that pedophilia among the hounders is among the reasons for getting disfellowshipped. Maybe "slander" for reporting such.

2 decades as an elder, never dealt with apostacy........usually people faded and eventually some went to different churches but we never pursued them because of years that went by.

    Mostly fornication and adultery.
