    Annie, yes, that is good. The first time I deep fried a turkey I had a disaster. I didn't realize that you have to lower the turkey slooooowly into the hot oil. Oh boy, what a mess!!! Hot oil everywhere, I'm lucky I didn't get burned. Thank god I had set the fryer up outside in the back yard. I lived in Fla at the time.

    Good luck with the pie crust. I always use the pre-made ones.

    Another thing you can do to keep the dough from rising too much is to (a) use a smaller amount - about 2/3 of the package and remember to reduce the baking time and (b) take a piece of foil or parchment paper to lay over top the cookie dough that's been smooshed out in the pie plate, and then pile some dried beans or peas over top to weigh the dough down while it bakes.
