    Betrayal

    Pounded in the kidney,
In the middle of a hug.
    Couldn't tell what hit me,
Barely had the strength to shrug.
It's not the blow that hurt me.
But that a friend had made the slug.

You are making me blush. But that's cool, I don't do that enough.

I have written quite a few more during my disappearance from the site. I'll post them here either tonight or tomorrow.

Abandoned, I like it. That's exactly how betrayal feels.

    Here's an unasked for addendum.

    that friend made me feel

    lower than a bug

but I refused to follow him

    Into the hole he dug

    A Poison Tree

Poem lyrics of A Poison Tree by William Blake.

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
    I was angry with my foe;
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I water'd it in fears,
    Night & morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with my smiles
    And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
    Till it bore an apple bright;
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

    And into my garden stole
When the night had veil'd the pole:
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch'd beneath the tree

    Harmonic Loneliness

    Indomitably
    Indubitably
    It never seems to end

    Anesthetically
    Systematically
    I’m looking for a friend

    Temporarily
    Arbitrarily
    I pick and choose among

    Categorically
    Allegorically
    I’m loneliness, unsung

    Identical Contrast

    Dramatic nothingness
    Unearned exhaustion

    Limited endlessness
    Dangerous precautions

    Conflicting equality
    Uneven balance

    Negative equity
    Silent parlance

I live in a world of successful failure
    Languishing lavishly in pretentious squallor.

    Nothing More Than Dying

I told fear to go f*** off.
    Each day is an adventure.
The timid stop to sneer and scoff.
    They prefer spineless indenture.

    Living life afraid to lose,
    Stuck watching other's trying,
    Is like a myst'ry without clues -
    Nothing more than dying.

    Lost Tranquility

    Impossibilities.
    Distilled reality.
    Idiosyncrasies.
    Eventuality.
    Living life with terminal frailties,
    Searching for my lost tranquility.

    Is it worth it?
    Some days.

    Irony's Not Cruel

    Morons miss the forest,
    Obsessing with a tree.
    Players send their soul mate,
    Packing down the street.

    Irony's not cruel.
    Fate does not take sides.
    Both of them, however,
    Know what a person hides.

    Wasn't

    It wasn't the pain,
    or
    the stinging.

    It wasn't the stain,
    on my cheek
    or
    the ringing,
    in my ear.

    It wasn't the power
    of the blow, or
    the shower
    of humiliation
    it bestowed.
    No!

    It was the shock
    that my best,
    best, best,
    friend,
    Wasn't.
