At this moment in time I don't think Satan is real.
In fact, I would love to travel to the most haunted house in Europe and sit alone in the dark in the basement and verbally challenge any demon to show himself.
I am confident that it would be a lonely and uneventful night.
How does one blame everything bad on something that does not exsist?
Like my buddy says-PROVE IT. Ok-show me - SATAN! Now as far as hell, well SURPRISE SURPRISE-you're walking on it.
What I find just as interesting as satan getting the rap for various nuisances in one's life, is god getting credit for others that are often far more calamitous. Like AIDS, for example...many a believer will say with a straight face that god caused AIDS to come into being to punish homosexuality. Not satan, but god. Don't even get me started on the flood or armageddon, the 10 plagues of Egypt... In fact, the only really bad thing I can remember from the bible that satan supposedly did, was all the disasters he set on Job. And that was because god gave him the green light to do so.
That's why I loved that line and the rest of the rant that went with it in Devil's Advocate: "I'm a fan of man".
