I totally agree. I wish I could send it to some of my family members. However, I don't think they would believe it as they are too deeply involved.

It sounds like the boys in New York are getting nervously weak about themselves, almost to a point of paranoia. gee I wonder why, what happened to the arrogance that was there

from years gone by ? If they think that they can keep their spoken and written doctrines out of the public eye they are more stupider than I thought.

It does look like they are intentionally going to tighten up their thought control segment of their operation from what I hear.

Could it be possible that they would totally forbid or discourage the use of the inter-net except for business use in the future....ummm

AlltimeJeff, I agree wholeheartedly with your entire post except for one minor detail that I would like yours and other thoughts about. Do we really think the sale of Real Estate Properties are at all linked to payment of sex abuse settlement for only 16 victims? WTS has megga inverstments and cash on hand. Hundreds of millions, if not over a billion by now; I knew one of their chief finiancial officers for many years while he was at Bethel. This particular settlement was chump change!

    very cultlike....oompa

I can foresee the day, when they would forbid a computer in your home, unless it was for business. Even for business, I bet they would not like it. They will probably put a porn and gambling spin to it.

Steven Hassan has coined the term 'high control group' in replacement for cult. I think it is a good way to describe groups like the JWs.

Let us not forget their latest KM crack down on people who study outside of the publications!

The WTS is becoming much more seclusive and reactionary. They would actually become much stronger if they relaxed their rules and regulations. Instead the old men up at Brooklyn really do think the end is near and are coming down hard to get the work done. They are going to move into a period of decrease for sure. The question is not when, but for how long? Eventually they will catch on and change their tune, or will they???

I just wanted to officially change something on my viewpoint. I have thought about this for a few days. I used to think that while they were in some ways controlling, that JW's did not meet the criteria of a cult totally. However, in the last year or so, JW's have"

AlltimeJeff.......I agree with you, though this has occured as you say past year, I would say I have noticed since coming back after a decade out the cultishness of the r/f as well, this society this and society that, the adulation of the GB and the cultish robotic attitude of the b/s to the point where you cant really trust free will anymore, and have to watch what you say. It has become a cult.

....a "Believers Only" version of the WT. Non JW's will continue to get the "Old McDonald Had a Farm" version

Can someone enlighten me on this issue, as it wreaks of secrecy and holding the remaining minds, hostage of those still in the bOrg.
