Farkel said prior to edit: If you can play those and others, maybe we can dialogue. But first, show me what you've got. I can show you what I've god. If you cannot, they you are just a beady--eyed pedant who can't do, but who can be a critic. Anyone can be a critic. Try to figure out how to read between the lines on a Chopin Ballade, e.g. and you have lived in the trenches of music and might just have some insight.

    Freudian slip?

No Farkel, my point (same as yours strangely) is that everyone has an opinion. "everyone's a critic"

Yes, I play music, haven't played a specific instrument in a while, but I can read music and have taken some music theory.

You shared your opinion, what was wrong with me sharing mine?

Take a xanax, not too many (you'll become dependant), but a couple.

Thanks so much for all the contributions. I haven't been to this site since yesterday afternnon and was so surprised by the response. I had cataract surgery this morning and because I can't wear my eyeglasses because of my patch I will only add one more piece of music that my mother loves. For me it will be my first experience hearing it. I don't think I made any typing errors!

Hope you enjoy and for all Americans have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I'' be back in a couple of days to add more. Hope many will continue to add also.

Didn't check to see which sounded better to me but I found this one that seems emotionally better. But what do you expect with the one eyed wonder. I assume it's the same concerto!

I am. Right now I'm listening to Dvorak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs1D5cQ2eJA&mode=related&search=

Maybe if there's an interest we could set aside an evening where someone chooses, say a symphony, and all who want to join, listen to it while we're on this board. I usually listen to music anyway. That may be neat.

okay, now I'm listening to yours.

GWQ, that last Dvorak concert was very good.

How is your eye, by the way?

I'm looking for something with a little twist that I know you will all enjoy. Hope I find it.

Close your eyes and listen. this is about a sleigh being pulled through the snow. The right hand represents the bells on the horses as they are running in the snow in Russia.

    Well, I can't find it.

Here's something from the Mikado. Not into opera much.

Might help if I put the link in. (duh)
