BEFORE God began creating.......he wasn't a CREATOR.

BEFORE God began creating.....there was nothing......and therefore nothing TO KNOW.

BEFORE God began creating...there was nothing and nothing to know....and therefore nothing to LOVE.

BEFORE God began creating...He was alone with nothing to distinguish him from nothingness except--what? His mind? Filled with what, actually?

God wasn't anyplace. God wasn't doing anything with anybody. Eternity of nothing was God's claim to fame.

God could not be ALL-KNOWING (there was nothing to know).

God could not be ALL-POWERFUL (nothing over which to exert power).

God could not be JUST (no wrongs to right).

God could not be WISE (no knowledge about things as yet created).

Therefore:

In what sense could GOD actually EXIST? To exist you must BE something rather than nothing. How was God distinguishable from nothing?

God would have no attributes, identity or context.

A God of Love with nothing to love? A God of wisdom with nothing to actually know?

Consequently, only in the mind of MAN can God find context and omniscience, power, etc.

MAN INVENTED GOD.

It always bothers me that people don't think. But, when they do think; they don't think about what they think about!

This topic invites people to think out loud.

I believe in God, but... What was God's earliest memory? Did God create heaven first or was heaven already there? Is it possible that God has always existed but wasn't aware of himself until much later? Where did his energy come from if he hadn't made anything? It's likely that God created life for companionship (Jesus) and then realized that life is more enjoyable if you have more persons to talk to (Angels)

Can God come to realize anything if He's omniscient?

What does it mean to be omniscient? Having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding; perceiving all things. Being omniscient does not replace personal experience. Besides, if you haven't made anything, how can you perceive it except through one's imagination?

If there are things that God chooses not to know, isn't He undermining His own omniscience?

No wonder we sabotage ourselves.

Thanks. I like this topic, makes you think and contemplate the impossible and the possible. God's existence is like a circle - no beginning and no end. If the universe is 16 billion years old, according to astronomers, then God began to create the physical universe 16 billion years ago. Prior to this, his creations were the angels, of whom their are at least four species: Seraphim, Cherubim, Arcangel and Angels (Messengers). Each had a different role. How long would it take to create each one? It could be instant or gradual. Each one would be unique and have it's own identity and name. The bible talks about myriads of myriads. Prior to the creation of the first angel, Jesus, nothing material had ever existed. Thus, the Master Architect, God, had a Master Plan (or purpose as the dubs like to say).

Consider this: Isaiah 43:10 ...before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Are we to assume that God was talking about time prior to his existence?

You don't have to DO in order to BE.

People with 'undiscovered' talents, skills and abilities - the artist who has the potential there within - but nobody sees their skill until they unleash it into reality on canvas...

Can we distinguish the air we breathe - nitrogen, oxygen etc from nothingness? Can't see it, touch it, taste it, smell it, can't hear it - but it's there and without it we die.
