I'm just not sure I'm interested in the 1914 books by Johhnson

I read the Gentile Times book. I am happy I read it, but it may not be for
you. It is deep in proof of 587, and that deepness gives it a textbook or
college thesis feel. The untechnical stuff is great, but it gets interupted by
all that "proof." I will say it overwhelms the JW mindset that almost accepted
that the WTS must know what they are saying about 607.

Blondie recommended MISTAKES WERE MADE: BUT NOT BY ME.

It is a 2007 published book about cognitive dissonance and why our
minds make bad decisions. Great book. Nothing about religion, but
you would see how our poor decisions to be JW's needed to be
    reinforced to reduce dissonance.

It discusses police interrogations on innocents, spouses, repressed
    memories- among other things.

Totally layman's terms. Not too deep for anyone to read.
