Not when you have no cartiledge and you are walking on "bone on bone", ice doesn't help it actually makes it worse! I wish it was that easy
Grendawn - I'm drinking plenty of fluids, just making sure I don't get dehydrated. Back to the Dr. on Monday!

I feel your pain.
Literally.
Osteo in my knees is what put me in a chair.
It hurts a lot less that it DID, but always went light on NSAIDS for the same reasons they are giving and have given you and Gopher so much grief.
I mostly just muscle through the pain which works during the day when I can distract myself readily, but at night, it can be a little tough.
I know what you mean about icepacks! YIKES!
And I live in the frozen north!
Just hang in there, and tell hubby to make YOU a sammitch!
Roller (of the 'pain hurts' aching sheep class)

I wish I could take away your pain...
Is there anything you can take that can partially rebuild the cartilage?

I do not know if in your case, it will help, or if you have already tried this route...just googling this subject uncovers a variety of treatments...whether they would be helpful to you or not, you can decide ...
I hope that you can ease the acid reflux so that you can eat and have wine!

I'm sorry you feel so bad - knee pain AND acid reflux AND starving! I hope you feel better soon - wish I could do something for you. I have had knee problems, couldn't have operation because I take coumadin among other reasons. I used glucosamine and it really helped, took about six months, but my knee is lots better. I don't know that it would help you, but I offer my experience just in case.

Sorry to hear you're ill. I have nothing to offer but sympathy.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
