i can try. i am a very confrontational person. it's hard for me to just smile and be nice. my mouth usually over rides my brain. i can't stand the idea of letting someone get away with anything, but, it's worth a shot. i'll have to keep reminding myself it's my friends day, not mine. i guess i can do it.

I know what you mean, even if I'm smiling - whatever I'm thinking is written all over my face This problem kept me in trouble when I was a kid!

You can do it, if you feel the urge to rip a witness a new one, go home have drink or two, and tell us all about it!!

Free food, alcohol, loose tongue. It sounds like a trap, young man.

Do you want to be Gulliver for an evening?

just keep thinking about your friend. The wedding is not the place for you to prove anything, it is for her and her new husband. Keep focusing on how you want her to be happy, and plan a reply for the smart-ass JW remarks. Maybe just kiss everyone and keep saying "I love weddings!" When they start backing away, you'll know it's time to leave.

think about why you are going? if it is because she is a good friend of yours.. if you are a good friend, you won't do something to ruin her day..

a friend wouldn't do that.. pick another time to vent on the WTS..

Can you possibly do this; go up to her and chat with her as soon as you can, then disappear to the car for a few minutes, go back and tell her that by the way she looks fantastic, and leave without her noticing you're going? Can you just be cheerful and not make eye contact with anybody for a few minutes?
