Starting when I was in High School I learned 16 new vocabulary words a day. I wanted to be able to read great Literature and the language of the greatest writers was redolent with vigorous coloration.
The greater the specificity of your vocabulary; the more accurately you can express the pinpoint thought inside your consciousness. Even then, words are but shadows on the cave wall.
