    Outlaw - "Buy An Umbrella!!...........................On Sale $39.95..."

...and donate the proceeds to the WT Legal Fund.

It'd a long way towards explaining the GB's distinct silence regarding all the JWorg swag, huh?

Very interesting eyewitness account from the High court, from an article on Jwsurvey:

" On the day I attended, Watchtower produced a witness who was an expert in his field of working with children. He began by trying not to answer direct questions put to him by the Barrister. Eventually, the Judge intervened and told him he had to answer the questions directly.

He was asked if saying sorry and showing repentance was good enough when it comes to child abusers. He gave an honest answer and explained that pedophiles are like alcoholics and drug addicts. Once they offend it is very unlikely that they will ever stop.

The defence Watchtower was using was that Stewart was removed as a ministerial servant and this was announced from the platform. A few weeks later a talk was given from the platform concerning improper behaviour. Watchtower felt this was enough of a warning to the congregation as it should have been obvious this talk was being given about Stewart.

Watchtower’s own expert was questioned on this, and asked whether this was indeed sufficient action. Of course, he had to answer honestly and say, “no.”

If we help them to marry the criticism levelled by the WT against the Catholic Church and others, with the reality of the filth within the WT/JW Org, they can make a great story of Hypocrisy, Lying, Cover-up, and stupid ineptitude driven by ignorant Dogma.

Yes, but... where are the direct quotes in WT literature where they rip the Catholic Church abuse problem in the same way they ripped them from the platform? We've all HEARD their anti-Catholic rhetoric but we need it in print.

    “An Uncomfortable History”

“The Report of the Commission to Inquire Into Child Abuse reveals an uncomfortable history of Ireland,” says The Irish Times. According to the newspaper, this report uncovers a history stained by the systematic abuse of children in Catholic religious institutions, ranging from “beating children whose crime it was that lice had infested their heads” to sustained sexual abuse. The abuse was ignored because of misguided loyalty to “the absolute authority of the Catholic Church,” says the paper. “Shame on You, Government and Church,” said a headline in the Times, quoting the words of one who sympathized with the victims.

    Sound familiar?

Has anyone had a very recent CO visit? The letter announcing ours (in a month or so) said that his Tues. night talk would touch on 'a tactic that Satan appears to have started using against the Org.' It didn't say what the "tactic" was, but it made me think of this, that the Org might be preparing the R&F to shrug off abuse news.

Is there an important difference here between the WT and the RCC ? I have no idea about the official rules concerning abuse in the RCC . If there are any clearly they were ignored because of misguided loyalty to the church , but it may be that rules at least exist about reporting abuse. It would be interesting to find out .

The whole point about the WT is that the OFFICIAL guidlines are to not report unless forced to .

    Huh.

    A surprising display of integrity.

They probably tore him a new asshole back at the KH afterwards.

The only point that jarred with me was this:

The religious organization which Abigail’s lawyer, Kathleen Hallisey, describes as “male-dominated”, required girls to wear dresses, which made the abuse of Abigail easier, the court was old.

We can't blame the victim. Sexual abuse is not dependant on anything the victim does or wears so this seems to be a bit of convoluted argument to me.
