This is not an angelic world most people have those crude animal sexual feelings and they are not as good as the monks and the nuns at repressing them. So a partner denied sex will very likely look for it elsewhere, it's difficult to sustain a sexless marriage. I wonder at times how was Mary expected to remain a virgin all her life as the Catholics believe, Joseph supposedly was old and beyond sexual desire but how was she a very young woman not supposed to have a full marital life?
