This is what I think will happen, rather than what I would like to see:
Hillary will close the delegate gap and nearly tie the race w Obama. Party hacks will use the super-delegate votes to give it to her anyway. Obama will decline the VP offer. Hillary will pick someone else, probably Gen. Wesley Clark.
McCain will win as Obama's troops either sit out or vote for the Republican as payback for Clinton's "stealing" the election and playing dirty.
Obama will become the odds-on favorite to win in 2012, and will, when McCain - by then a collossal failure rivaling George W. Bush as president -may not even get his party's nomination.
Within a few years after that, the Iraq war will be settled or move to a more palatable phase, the economy will cycle through the recession and Obama's first term will be likened to the golden years of the '90s.
