1. only have enough clothes for ten days - you take up less room in the closet and need fewer hangers. 2. only have as many hangers as you have clothes. 3. take the shirt off the hanger, put the hanger back on the rod right away. 4. take the pile of laundry to the closet, pull out a hanger, hang something on it, put it away. 5. ruthlessly throw out stray hangers - they fornicate and reproduce when you aren't looking. 6. any time you buy new clothes, throw out the old ones, to keep the hanger count the same.
