The Warnings of the Diabolical things we were told about

Every so often there would be a talk presented that featured some
thing strange and unusual when an individual received the "truth."

On certain occasions you would hear about how a person was
"attacked" by demons for studying the Bible. And how individuals
who were trying to free themselves from black magic would ex-
perience all sorts of bizarre mishaps in their life because they
were trying to acquire "accurate knowledge."

What if there is some truth behind it?

World-wide there are all sorts of accounts of demonic possession,
and individuals who practice black magic, Ouija boards, clairvoyance
    and Voodoo.

    The questions regarding this subject:

    • Do you think there is a possibility that such things as
      evil supernatural forces exist?

    • Have you known of anyone who may have experienced
any kind of paranormal or supernatural experience?

    • What is your point of view regarding this issue?

Please post your comment for an interesting an lively discussion.

    • I think there is a possibility that there are entities in othe dimensions. Also the workings of the mind are mysterious to us humans. We are very open to suggestion. A little of this and a little of that makes it difficult to know what is going on. I've known people who have had paranormal experiences. I am a corrections officer, the jail is full of them. I've watched them while they are talking to other entities that are invisible to me. Many of these people are diagnosed as schizophreniacs. So the way our society deals with many of these people is to medicate them. Maybe they are a conduit to another dimension.

    • What is my point of view. Better someone else have these experiences than I. I dont want anything to do with it, or them. I also know people outside of the jail who have paranormal experiences and entertain them even to the point of allegedly leaving their bodies and going into other dimensions. My hobbie is music and motorcycles, their hobbie is visiting the other side. Are they really going someplace or just having a trip inside their head? Maybe our brain is like a receiver.

    • Maybe the paranormal is the last frontier.

I see some preachers do it all the time on the TV. They touch you on the head and you fall out on the floor.

My wife knew a guy who said he could go out of his body to other places, but he had a hard time getting back in once and he guit doing it.

I have never had any experience like this so I doubt it all. Sometimes I do dream and it seems real, but I wake up and realize it really didn't happen. Ocassionally I can't tell if something I remember really happened or if it was a dream. The mind is a mystery to me in many respects.

I am rational and skeptical in my beliefs. That said, I am still open-minded about The Unknown.

I do not believe that the labels commonly applied to paranormal experiences by the Watchtower Society should be used. There are no Satan and His Demons.

That is not to say that there are not unseen aspects of the universe that we have yet to adequately explain. What I do know is that there are people who I know personally that claim to have experienced a rationally unexplainable event. My first reaction is to look for rational causes such as drug use or sleep disorders, things which have to do with brain chemistry imbalances. Even so, I can give someone the benefit of the doubt. To such a person, the experience seemed real enough. Physical evidence may be available in some cases as well, though it is often by no means conclusive.

Whether an experience is classified as "evil" or "benevolent" could be a subjective consideration.

A close relative of mine who is a Witness has claimed on two occasions to have experience paranormal activity. First, this relative claimed to hear strange noises in the house when no one else was home. This relative worked nights and slept days. My brother lived there at the time. He liked to listen to heavy metal music. The "solution" to the "demonic" problem was to get rid of the music. On a second occasion, years later my grandmother lived in the same house with this relative. They did not get along well. One day this relative claims to have seen an apparition over my sleeping grandmother. It was assumed that there must be some object in her possession that was causing "demonic" activity. A short time later, my grandmother moved out. Despite my knowing this relative very well as an honest person, I can't help but wonder if there was some subconscious motivation to the "demonic" experience.

I have spoken to "worldly" people who claim to have had paranormal experiences. At least one admitted to being "high". Another was a twelve year old boy living in a troubled family who made his own Ouija board. Whatever their experiences, however, I no longer attribute such phenomenon to "Satan and His Demons".

I think that the Demon Worship of Jehovah's Witnesses is just another method of control over superstitious people. I call it worship because they are subtly taught to fear Satan and His Demons. So, they are caught between a rock and a hard place. Either fear Jehovah, or he'll leave you in the hands of a terrifying Satan. Silly. And sad. I used to believe it.

In my 45 years on this planet I have never seen a ghost, nor had any supernatural events happen to me whatsoever.

If I did I would think my brain was malfunctioning and hopefully I would have the presense of mind to seek professional help.

However, I do not discount the possibility. Certainly there is much that science can't yet explain. It seems to me that many supernatural events happen in areas where the natural electromagnetic field is disrupted - one particularly haunted house in the uk has problems with metered electricity, the meter frequently goes haywire. As electromagnetic creatures our brains could be affected by such areas.

I find it difficult to believe in invisible intelligent entities that pop up occasionally just to twiddle the curtains. But some sort of general force, that can come into focus around a particular individual for good or ill - why not?

I know a guy who says there are over 100,000 people who disappear without a trace in the United States every year. He says this is proof these people are taken to heaven in a continuing and ongoing rapture.

I know another guy who wears a "We Are Not Alone" button on his lapel and he claims disappearing people are abducted by UFOs. He claims HE was abducted by a UFO and returned.

I can't objectively refute either claim.

If I accept one whacky claim from one nut, I have to accept them all. If I reject one, I have to reject them all.

I have a duty to myself and to my family and to my business to be rational, objective, and to stay in reality.

For some people, reality is a place they visit, like going into town for groceries.

There are evil spirits and people that get involved with them through magic and Devil/demon worship do end up having serious emotional problems, those malign entities are very real. All mainstream religions are dead against occult and demonic contact.

  • - yes, but i don't believe all are evil.

    - i have experienced some things first hand. i could feel whether the spirit was sad, playful, or angry ... masculine or feminine.

    - i think that it's not a good idea to dwell on it or become obsessed with the spirit realm. playing with something you have very little knowledge of is dangerous, mostly to your sanity ;)
