    Dear Friends,

My favorite poem is NOT IN VAIN by Emily Dickinson:

If I can stop one heart from breaking,

I shall not live in vain:

If I can ease one life the aching,

    Or cool one pain,

    Or help one fainting robin

    Unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.

This has special meaning to me as I read it at a slain friend's memorial service --- the hardest thing I ever did. Kindly share sayings, thoughts and poems that are meaningful to you.

    Yours truly,

    CoCo

I love Emily Dickenson-a true INFP.

I also like Edith Wharton. I identify with a quote I read once regarding her. It started with:"She took nothing calmly". Me in a nutshell.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes.....that way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes!....

ComCom that is great. So sorry about your friend.

Mine hardly compares, but my favorite quote is:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." ~Albert Einstein.

    P.B. Shelley

One word is too often profaned
    For me to profane it,
    One feeling too falsely disdained
    For thee to disdain it;
One hope is too like despair
    For prudence to smother,
And pity from thee more dear
    Than that from another.

I can give not what men call love,
    But wilt thou accept not
The worship the heart lifts above
    And the heavens reject not,
The desire of the moth for the star,
Of the night for the morrow,
    The devotion to something afar
From the sphere of our sorrow?

"The bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you refuse to take the turn."

The bend in the road for many of us has been finding out the "truth" is not the truth! I found this saying to be quite fitting.

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty

Believe while others …. By William Arthur Ward

    Believe while others are doubting.

    Plan while others are playing.

    Study while others are sleeping.

    Decide while others are delaying.

    Prepare while others are daydreaming.

    Begin while others are procrastinating.

    Work while others are wishing.

    Save while others are wasting.

    Listen while others are talking.

    Smile while others are frowning.

    Commend while others are criticizing.

    Persist while others are quitting.

    My other favorite saying is:

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.
