If there's anything positive to emerge from this incident, it's that it was possible for several GB members to exercise a veto over Jaracz's wishes. One can't help but wonder, however, whether he's succeeded in consolidating his power during the intervening 14 years since this incident.

In the intervening 14 years, the Governing Body has lost two who certainly sided against Jaracz, and Jaracz handpicked four additions to the GB. I would consider that a consolidation of power. Jaracz is firmly at the helm.
