Who would tell 9/11 survivors to just get over it?

The war's not over for me till the hostages are released.

I'm with Gary on this one.

There is no magic formula for dealing with a traumatic experience, each individual has to find their own way to handle the trauma and move on.

In some ways it was easier for me to move on after 9/11 because I still worked in the area and lived nearby. I had to figure out a way to move on and function the way I functioned before - I had no choice.

Whe I left the Borg, I moved out of the area, cut off all relationships with anyone connected with the Borg, and I refused to acknowledge any memory of my dub past.

Since I didn't face down my past and express my feeling to those I blamed for my enslavement (including myself), I really didn't move on, I just covered it up.

Only in the last few years, after sharing my experiences with other, especially ex dubs like you guys, can I now say that I am almost over it.

If I had handled my escape for the Borg the way I handled 9/11 - face on, I would be a lot further along by now.
